If you brushed your teeth or shaved this morning, you probably touched Polymer Holdings' products. Through operating subsidiary Kraton Polymers, the company makes styrenic block copolymers (SBCs), a material it invented in the 1960s. SBCs are used in adhesives, coatings, sealants, lubricants, packaging, and other applications across a range of industries such as roofing, medical, and personal care products (the rubbery grip on your toothbrush or razor handle, for example). Kraton sells some 800 products in more than 60 countries and has production facilities in the Americas and Europe. The company filed to go public in 2009 and will change its name to Kraton Performance Polymers in conjunction with the IPO.
